A Leader Who Listens

PASSION—Anyone who knows me, knows how passionate I am about learning and education!   A good school board member advocates for public education both in the community and at the state and legislative level. I have done this as a parent advocate and will continue as a board member.  

EXPERIENCE—My experience in various roles in the district for the past 18 years, both professionally and personally has afforded me a working knowledge of multiple aspects of the SOCSD and the ability to understand our issues from varied perspectives, especially the perspectives of those who I will represent.

KNOWLEDGE—My background in education with both a bachelor’s and master’s degree from the College of Education at Mississippi State University paired with my active participation has given me a diverse knowledge of what is happening in our district, how things are run, and the strengths and challenges of our district.

RELATIONSHIPS—As a counselor, I am trained to develop and nurture trusting relationships. My passion, experience and knowledge have helped me build positive relationships throughout the district. This relational foundation drives my ability and desire to build bridges between administration, teachers, parents, students, and community stakeholders.

School Board members face a significant learning curve when they take office.  My Passion, Experience, Knowledge and Relationships give me an advantage over the other candidates and will enable me to the hit the ground running when I’m elected.
